As I am in the process of getting my very own octopus tattoo, this immediately caught my attention. Pretty incredible to say the least, reading how the artist (Keng Lye) made this come to stunningly realistic life. Epic really. And starting the body form with an eggshell, love it.

I've wanted a number of tattoos for quite some time. I finally this year have started that ball rolling and began with a piece of work that's been on my mind for 6+ years now. An octopus, on my left arm and shoulder. Why an octopus? But don't you love elephants? Yes. I do love elephants and when I figure out exactly what I want for that tattoo, I'll do it (it must be perfect ya know). Until then Im completing the octopus with a friend from college. Kevin Pulido. Good fucking question.
What is creativity? Where does it come from? Is any work really original work? You're a "creative" person, so the ideas should just come spewing out... right? The inquiries, debate and misconceptions go on and on. I understand and appreciate a lot of the information in this piece. And I agree in that being creative can range from cooking dinner to sculpting a work of art. So much good stuff in here.

Series done by American photographer, Angelo Merendino. A brave, moving and down right incredible series. Taking photos along the way as his girlfriend battled cancer. I'm posting the first picture here, but please, click the credit link and check out the series. It's a wonderful and very personal insight into the path that Jennifer went through. Wow.

It'd been 10 years since I'd seen them live. It was long overdue. The blood, the guts, the gore. Yeah, I missed it. And running into some old friends was icing on the cake.
